Oscar Ronald Adams "Ron's" remarkable life came to a peaceful end the morning of Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.

Oscar Ronald "Ron" Adams was born on April 9, 1940, in Cedar City, Utah, to Bill and Arvilla Adams. From a young age, Ron carried with him a deep sense of duty, faith, and devotion to family. He graduated from Cedar High School in 1958 and went on to attend the College of Southern Utah, earning his degree in 1961. He then continued his education at Brigham Young University, where he not only earned his degree in 1963 but also became a lifelong fan of the Cougars, proudly cheering them on for the rest of his life.

On July 22, 1960, Ron married his eternal companion, Lolene McAllister, in the St. George Utah Temple. Their love story spanned more than six decades, filled with joy, trials, and countless memories. Together they raised three children-Debbie Pimm (Dave), Danny Adams (Trixie), and Nanette Prisbrey (Bruce).

Ron trained at Williams Air Force Base and graduated in 1964. He honorably served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His courage and skill in the cockpit reflected his character: steady, dependable, and fearless. He was awarded the silver star for gallantry in connection with military operations.

Following his military service, he went on to a distinguished career as a pilot for American Airlines, where he safely guided passengers across the skies for many years. His dedication and professionalism earned the respect of colleagues and passengers alike.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ron gave his heart to serving others. He served faithfully as a bishop and later in the stake presidency, where his counsel and compassion blessed countless lives.

In the early 2000s, Ron and Lolene were called to serve a mission in Fiji. Their time there was a cherished chapter of their lives. It was during this mission that they met Chandresh Narayan, who became like a son to them and remained a beloved part of their eternal family. Ron was instrumental in preparing for the dedication of the Suva Temple and helping President Hinckley's plane land for the private temple dedication.

Ron's greatest joy came from his family. He and Lolene were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was also a loyal brother to Gayle and Uldene and was preceded in death by his brother Gary. Known affectionately as Ron or Ronnie, he was the heart of his family, offering quiet strength, laughter, and unconditional love. His favorite place on earth was the Family property on Cedar Mountain, where he found peace and joy surrounded by his loved ones.

Ron Adams will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his deep devotion to God and country, and his steady example of discipleship. He taught his family by word and deed to trust in the Lord, to serve faithfully, and to love unconditionally. His influence will continue to guide his posterity and all who knew him.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy lord." – Matthew 25:21

The family would like to express gratitude to Ethan Bunker for his kindness and loving care in taking care of Ron.
