Kenton Davis Obituary

Roy Kenton Davis (26 yo) passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from injuries sustained in a speed flying accident in Mürren, Switzerland.

Kenton was born on April 27, 1999, the first child of Kerrie and Neal Davis in American Fork, UT. He spent his childhood in Utah, Iowa, Michigan and back to Utah. He was joined by his 5 siblings over the years and was a loving big brother to all of them. Even as a young child, Kenton had a bright imagination and always looked for fun and adventure - making forts, building Legos, putting on magic shows, swinging from trees, climbing everything, jumping off tall things, and even making his own parachute with grocery bags. He often wore a Superman cape and was nicknamed by his parents, "Super K".

As he grew, Kenton developed many talents and was a natural with music and art including guitar, drawing, watercolor, graphic design, and pottery. Kenton loved ideas and discussing philosophies. He was an avid reader and talented writer. He played competitive soccer in club and high school, as well as doing track (pole vault), and cross country. He loved everything outdoors - hiking, mountain biking, slack lining, rock climbing and boating. He became an amazing skier and excellent ski instructor at Brighton and Woodward. Kenton tried everything and was good at everything he tried.

Kenton attended BYU and graduated with a degree in Economics. He worked as a River guide on the Snake River with Teton Whitewater for five seasons. He was a favorite guide and told lots of untrue stories to his captive crew. Kenton discovered sailing in the last two years and loved the combination of wind and water.

Kenton followed his Opa in his love of flying. He took powered parachute and paragliding lessons during his junior year. Kenton flew every chance he could. He took up speed flying, his ultimate love, and became one of the best in the world. He was incredibly calculated, smooth, and graceful and literally danced in the air. He loved to "hike and fly" and searched out all the best lines wherever he went.

Kenton was a devoted son, brother, cousin, nephew, and grandson. He loved his family and connected with each of his siblings. He helped them with homework, was interested in their hobbies, included them in everything he did, and made them feel like they could do anything.

Kenton made friends instantly and kept his friends close. He loved his friends so much and pulled them into all of his adventures. Everyone who met Kenton felt unconditional acceptance and love. His bright smile and laugh were infectious and his eyes shone with a little bit of mischief and a lot of life.

Kenton will always be remembered for his contagious optimism, wonder, curiosity, love of nature, love of life and love for each person he met. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Kenton is survived by his parents Neal and Kerrie and his siblings Merrill (Kira), Hampton, Greta, Sofia, and Peter.
