Oscar Landez was born in Crystal City, Texas on November 8, 1936, to Julio and Quirina Landez, and went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2025, at the age of 88.
Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Marines and in the Texas Air National Guard. He was a long-time member of the Alamo Detachment of the Marine Corp League.
He had a strong love for music and could often be heard humming his favorite tunes around the house, elevators, and doctor's offices. Though not a professional photographer, he was often asked to be the official photographer for weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations of friends and family.
A special thanks to all his caregivers these past 6 months, who saw to his comfort and care and made sure he completed his therapy sessions. He often amused them with his sense of humor and playful bantering with his son.
His final evening was spent surrounded by family, who gathered in prayer and thanks for the life he spent giving of himself and never asking for anything in return. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Love for his family was of utmost importance to Oscar. His family was everything to him and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with them. His love will forever live on in the hearts of his family.
He is preceded in death by his one true love of 55 years wife Elizabeth "Betty" Landez, grandson David "DJ" Johnson, daughter in law Debra Landez, parents Julio and Quirina Landez and siblings Mary Landez Gil (Louis), Dolores Garcia (Robert), Jules Landez, Rudolfo Landez, Eugenia Landez, and John Landez (Betty).
Survivors include his loving children Patricia Deane Enriquez (Jesus), Lawrence O. Landez (Debra), and David J. Landez (Lety), he is also survived by his last remaining sibling, Virginia L. Salas (Johnny), and numerous grandchildren: Shawn Dean Zuniga (Abigay), Timothy Maurice-Ashton Johnson (Dalia), Brittany Cara Johnson, David Joshua Johnson, Evan Noah Landez, and John Ryan Gabriel Landez, great grandchildren: Madison Elizabeth Zuniga, Jamia Brielle Johnson, Blake Ashton Johnson, and Brayden Oliver Johnson, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and dear friends.

I will miss Mr Landez he was a very sweet man. He wasn´t just a patient of mine he was a great friend of my father (Delfino Flores). They were in the Marines and League together. They had been friends for decades . May he Rest In Peace and yes he was usually humming a song or whistling a tune. He always had the biggest smile on his face it was contagious.
