Obituary published on Legacy.com by Young Family Funeral Home - Kendallville on Oct. 31, 2025.
Pam Hovarter, 71, of
Kendallville, Indiana died Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
She was born November 30, 1953, in Knott County, Kentucky to Beverage and Ellen (Wicker) Wallen.
On December 17, 1986, in Kendallville she married Everett L. Hovarter. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2012.
She had worked at Arden in Kendallville and 13 years at Courier in Kendallville as a machine operator. She also cleaned for several years at Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, now Young Family Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Pam was a woman whose heart and spirit were as vibrant as the things she loved. A devoted collector of all things Elvis, she found joy in the King's music and in the memories it brought. Her love of travel often took her to two of her favorite places - Tennessee and Hawaii - where she found beauty, peace, and inspiration.
A talented seamstress and skilled at cross stitch, Pam had a gift for creating beauty with her hands. She also had a passion for movies - from the timeless Gone with the Wind to the thrill of a good action film. But nothing lit up her heart quite like Christmas. She delighted in the season, cherishing the Hallmark holiday movies and the simple magic that came with them.
Pam found joy in life's small, beautiful moments - collecting seashells, watching butterflies, admiring sunsets and sunrises, and always looking for rainbows. Her favorite moments were spent on the porch, listening to the soothing sound of rain. And whenever she could, she loved a friendly game of Rummy, full of laughter and good company.
Pam's life was a gentle reminder to find joy in the everyday, to treasure the beauty around us, and to never stop looking for the rainbow. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will live on in all who knew her.
