Pamela Marie Cox (Kennett), 66, of Linden Hall, lost her valiant fight against cancer at the Mount Nittany Medical Center on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Born on July 31, 1958, in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Genevieve (Cole) Kennett. On November 23, 1974, just over 50 blissful years ago, in Linden Hall, she married the love of her life, Thomas I. Cox, who survives at home in Linden Hall.
Pamela graduated from State College High School in 1976. After a 40-year career, she found joy in working with the children at the Spring Creek Elementary School. Pamela was known to many as "Granny".
Pam was a huge supporter of her grandson and all of his activities, most recently the Happy Valley Babas rugby club. She was a longtime member of the Linden Hall Garden Club and enjoyed making floral arrangements, tending to her plants, and baking pies for the Memorial Day bake sale. She was a big fan of Penn State football and women's hockey. She also loved going to bingo and taking road trips with family and friends. Pamela enjoyed throwing and attending parties, and decorating her home for every season and holiday. Of all her joys in life, her family always ranked number one. She was kind, caring, and a true giver of her time and thoughtful gifts.
Along with her husband, Pamela is survived by two daughters: Christy Muhlbauer and her husband, Keith, of
Boiling Springs, NC; and Nicole G. Burhans and her husband, Richard C., of Boalsburg. She is also survived by her grandson, Xander Cox, and his significant other, Kaylee Bower, of Bellefonte. Additional survivors include her brother, Mark Kennett, and his wife, Debbie, of Seneca Falls, NY; and numerous friends, including her long time bestie, Kim.
In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by two children, John and Tracey Cox; two sisters, Jeannine Anderson and Nancy Jones; and her brother in-law, Robert Jones.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Centre Hall. She will be laid to rest privately at the Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St. #206, State College, PA 16803.
