Lois L. Dale (Auman), 91, formerly of Rebersburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Embassy of Hearthside in State College. Born on October 18, 1933, in Smulton, she was the daughter of the late Bryan and Anna (Garis) Auman. On January 29, 1960, in Lock Haven, she married her partner in life, Gordon Y. "Gordy" Dale, Sr, who preceded her in death in November of 2024.
Lois graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1952. She spent a few years in housekeeping at the Elbys Inn in State College, but her true passion was being a stay-at-home mom and caretaker of her family and household.
Lois enjoyed housekeeping and all it entailed from cooking to cleaning and caring for her family. She took pride in her home and family and that never wavered. She was a strong willed, determined, tender hearted, and devoted woman. She carried many titles in life, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mom, and grammy, and the one thing each title had in common was family. Family was everything to her. Her memories, hugs, clean vacuum lines, tidiness, smile, and love will remain forever engrained in those that loved her.
Lois is survived by her sons, Gordon Y. "Gordy" Dale, Jr. and his wife, Glenda, of Woodward and Scott A. Dale and his wife, Carol, of State College; four grandchildren, Jamie Dale (Jared), Josh Dale (Jessica), Emily Dale (Collin), and Abigail Dale (Raymond); three great grandchildren, Alaina, Rowynn, and Sophia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Clark, Hazel Wolfe, and Fairy Englert.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1pm – 2pm in honor of both Lois and Gordy at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall. Military honors will be accorded by the Air Force Honor Guard immediatley following at 2pm. They will be privately laid to rest together at the Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lock Haven.
