Pamela Hildenbrand, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in her hometown of Evansville, IN, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 19, 1953, to the late William Sr. and Marilyn (Attebury) Long, Pam's life was a testament to the love and devotion she had for her family and the joy she found in her many interests.
Pamela's life was one of unwavering partnership and love with her husband Jim Hildenbrand, with whom she shared 53 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and an abundance of cherished memories. Her love and guidance were the bedrock for her sons, Kevin, and his wife Brooke, and Matt Hildenbrand. She was a source of constant encouragement and pride for her beloved grandson, Hank Hildenbrand, who brought immense joy to her later years.
Her sister, Sharon (Long) Higgs, will remember Pam as a beacon of strength and kindness, a companion in life's journey who shared countless moments of happiness and sisterly love. Though her parents, William Sr. and Marilyn Long, predeceased her, the values they instilled in Pam became her guiding light throughout her life.
Pamela's zest for life was evident in her enthusiasm for the great outdoors. She was happiest when camping and embarking on beach trips with her family, with Pensacola Beach, Florida, holding a special place in her heart. The tranquility of the waves and the warmth of the sand were the perfect backdrop for the laughter and stories that she shared with her loved ones.
A skilled craftswoman, Pamela's hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in the art of crocheting. Her creations were not just beautiful pieces of work but tangible expressions of her love and thoughtfulness, often gifted to those she held dear.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Kassie Morris, the home health nurse, whose compassion and care for Pamela over the past several years were a comfort to them all. Kassie's dedication and kindness will never be forgotten.
Pamela's legacy of love, family, and compassion will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. Her warm spirit and generous heart have left an indelible imprint on her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they have of her.
In honor of Pamela's life and in recognition of her love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to It Takes a Village Rescue. Her compassion for all living beings was yet another facet of her generous spirit, and this gesture will help continue her legacy of kindness.
Pamela Hildenbrand's story is one of love, family, and the simple joys of life. As we celebrate her life, we take solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in all the days to come.
