Deana Marie Nixon (Hendricks), 64, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on August 24, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on February 9, 1961, in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Deana was known for her loving heart, her selfless spirit, and her ability to bring laughter and warmth wherever she went. She found joy in the simple things-gardening, puzzling, camping, raising chickens, and fishing. She was happiest surrounded by her family, whether sharing stories, creating handmade gifts for the holidays, or enjoying time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Benjamin Bosse High School and Ivy Tech Community College, Deana lived her life guided by kindness, strength, and faith. She gave generously to others, often putting their needs before her own, and she taught her family the value of hard work and compassion.
Her family will always remember how she could turn even ordinary moments into special ones. Whether giggling while fishing after a stubborn catch or rearranging furniture just to make a room feel new, Deana had a way of finding joy and sharing it with those around her.
She is survived by her partner, Sam Dockery; her children Michelle(Nickel) Beshears and Gregory(Dawn) Nixon, Jennifer Nixon and Joseph(Ashley) Nixon; her grandchildren Cameron(Caitlyn), Tori, Jonathan, Jaylynn, Kyla, Holden, Jasper, Athena; her great-grandchildren Eli, Elle, Everett, Xylah, Lyric; her brother Jeff(Beth) Hendricks; her sister Georgina Justice; her nieces Stephanie(John) Blackwell, Tia(David) Huebner, Michelle(Clay) Martins; and her nephews Ryan(Sara) Hendricks, David(Nicki) Lefler, Stephen Lefler, Jadyn Marcum, Michael(Amelia) Quirk, and Dustin Ducharme. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kay Hillenbrand, Larry White, Marie and Sarge Hendricks, her sister Mary Jo Justice, and her grandson Nicolas Belcher. Deana also leaves behind her beloved dogs and many animals who will miss her daily love and devotion.
Deana will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, and friend whose love and generosity touched everyone who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
