Obituary for Pamela K. Manning

MILLBURY, MA – PAMELA K. MANNING, 48, passed away surrounded by loved ones at HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence, RI on Saturday, August 9th after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer.

Pam leaves her beloved husband of 17 years, Patrick B. Manning; 2 wonderful sons, Patrick and Justin, her mother, Sandy Anderson of Fargo, ND, father Jeffrey Anderson and his wife Maria of Montevideo, MN. Brother, Paxton Anderson and his wife Kelli of Phoenix, AZ. Sister, Marti Jo Anderson and her husband RJ Theodore also of Phoenix, AZ. Additionally, Pam leaves behind 8 nephews, 3 nieces, mother-in-law, Brenda Manning of Ashland, MA, sister-in-law, Cynthia Roberts and her husband Roger of Amesbury, MA, sister-in-law, Christine Manning of Medway, MA and countless friends, colleagues and extended family.

Pam grew up in Montevideo, Minnesota and was a 1995 graduate of Montevideo High School where she was a 3 sport athlete including all-state softball player. On top of that, she found time to play the flute in the school’s marching band. She then attended the University of Minnesota, Mankato graduating in 2000. From there she went on to attend the New England College of Optometry in Boston where she earned her Doctorate in Optometry in 2004. She spent the bulk of her career practicing at Worcester Ophthalmology Associates in Worcester, MA. She was also a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists and past executive board member.

Pam was an avid runner and completed multiple marathons including the Boston Marathon on three occasions. She also had a love for golf and frequently played rounds with her close friends while showing off her crushing drives off the tee. She was a general sports fanatic, but her true passion was cheering on her sons, Patrick & Justin, at their many basketball games. She enjoyed traveling even reaching distant places in Australia and New Zealand. One of her favorite places to spend time was at her family lake cabin in Belgrade, ME.

Pam had radiant blue eyes, an infectious smile and could truly light up any room. She touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all of those that knew her and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Thursday, August 21st at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N Main St. Millbury, MA. Immediately following visitation, there will be a memorial service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the same location.

Afterwards, all are welcome to a Celebration of Life Luncheon at J. Anthony’s Italian Grill, 917 Southbridge St. Auburn, MA.
