Pamela Charise Mayfield went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 22, 2024. She passed peacefully into eternity surrounded by her husband and children.
Pam, better known as "Gigi" to her 10, soon to be eleven grandchildren, whom she adored, was also a beloved mother and sister to her family. Pam was a loving wife of 37 years to her husband, Nathan.
Born in Fort Smith, AR on February 14, 1962, she was the middle child of three to Harold and Joyce Gray. She was raised in California and St. Louis but settled in Louisville for the last 25 years.
Pam is survived by her adoring husband, Nathan Mayfield, as well as her three children: Paul (Katie) Mayfield of Charlotte, NC, Jessica (Dylan) Shepard of Louisville, KY, and Victoria (Micah) Tufts of Shelbyville, KY. She is also survived by the grandchildren she loved with all her heart: Silas, Addison, Elliana, Titus, Levi, Evelyn, Landon, Judah, Sofia, and Timothy, plus a new granddaughter due in July.
Pam was a member of Dover Baptist Church in Shelbyville, KY. As a pastor's wife she served faithfully and loved her church family. She sang in the choir and served wherever needed. Her entire life has been an example of a godly woman serving her Lord faithfully. This has been true in every church she's ever been part of, from her church in St. Louis, to every church we have served in since.
Pam was a Dental Hygienist by trade, but it was her family that held her heart. She was an avid seamstress who smocked and sewed for her children and grandchildren and a wonderful hostess who loved to cook and entertain, especially during the holidays.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 and after 10 a.m. on Friday.
Memorial gifts may be made to Dover Baptist Church 7327 Dover Road Shelbyville, KY 40065 or International Mission Board SBC 3806 Monument Avenue Richmond, VA 23230-3932 https://www.imb.org/generosity/give-now/

We are praying for your family in your deep grief. Even though Jesus Christ defeated death, it still hurts until we see our loved ones again.
