Pamela A. McCracken, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born and raised in Maryland, Pam was a woman of deep faith and unwavering dedication to her community. She served for many years as the choir director at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, where her passion for music and spiritual devotion touched countless lives.
Professionally, Pam devoted her life to education as an instrumental music teacher in the Baltimore County Public School System. Over the course of 36 years, she taught at Chase Elementary, Edgemere Elementary, Middle River Middle School, and Kenwood High School where she spent 21 of those years. Pam taught all levels of instrumental music and was beloved by her students and colleagues alike. Her talent, mentorship, and kindness inspired generations.
In addition to her school teaching, Pam conducted and performed with the Middle River Concert Band. After retiring, she continued to share her expertise by serving as an adjudicator for band, orchestra, and solo and ensemble festivals throughout Maryland. She also served as a guest conductor for multiple middle and high school all-county bands and notably conducted the Maryland Junior High All-State Band.
Pam is survived by her brother Robert C. Davis Jr. and his wife Karen; sister Bettie Lantz and her husband Robert; and brother Dale D. Davis and his wife Catherine. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces Melissa Lantz-Garnish, Danielle Riley, and Jennifer Parker; nephews Robert C. Davis III, Jason Davis, and Max Davis; as well as many great-nieces and great nephews. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who were fortunate to know her.
A viewing and visitation will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church on Wednesday May 14th, 2025 in Saint Matthews Lutheran Church 3620 Red Farm Road Bowley's Quarters, Maryland 21220 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, fellowship following service will held in the church hall. Private Interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers Pam would appreciate donations to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church Music Fund or Middle River Concert Band. All donations can be mailed to
