Pamela Leigh Player of Mission, Texas, passed away peacefully at the Comfort House on May 30, 2025. She was 60 years old. She was born on July 23, 1964, in Columbia, SC. She was the daughter of the late Paul S. Player and Jean N. Player.
Pam grew up in Columbia, SC. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was baptized and later became a member of GraceChurch of Columbia. She graduated from Dreher High School and went on to receive an Associate of Arts in Office Management and Associates of Arts in Business from the University of SC; a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, University of SC, Beaufort and a Master of Education from Roger Williams University. Pam taught in local elementary schools in Columbia, SC. Most recently she worked remotely for various insurance agencies.
Surviving Pam are a son Garrison A. Crews, a daughter Samantha L. Crews, Pam's fiancé David Reed, sisters Paula P. Taylor (Charlie), Phyllis P. Langley (Harry), a niece and nephews.
The family would like to thank Mr. Luis Zamora and the staff at the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas, as well as Mr. Robert Lugo and the Family Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas, for their very special care of Pam and the family.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas, via their website www.comforthousergv.com.
