Patricia Ann "Pat" Marchert (Dryier) and Joseph Charles "Joe" Marchert, Retired USMC of Port Charlotte, FL were reunited for eternity on September 16, 2025. Their love story began as they were married on June 17, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois and spent the next 59 years raising their beloved family, creating friends for a lifetime, traveling the world and making the most of every day they shared together.

Pat was born August 4, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Felix and Helen Dryier and passed away on April 7, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, along with brothers Bob and Ken (Kathy).

Joe was born February 23, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Fred and Norma Marchert and passed away on September 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, along with brothers Fred, Bob (Judy) and sister Norma (late Larry) Taft. He is survived by his brother James Marchert, Sr (late Anne).

Joe and Pat will be cherished forever by their children Joe (Tricia) Marchert of Chicago, IL; Suzette (Jim) Brzezinski of Joliet, IL and Jeff (Shannon) Marchert of Oswego, IL. We will always watch for the pink balloons. They are the adored Nana and Papa of Tim (Jessie) and Tom (Janice) Brzezinski; Lauryn (Cooper) Rush, Joey and Erin Marchert; Grace and Austin Marchert & Brielle Sanders. While Pat was never blessed to meet her Great Grandchildren, she has sent many butterflies, rainbows, flowers and hearts to Ayla, Noah, Evelyn and Matthew, who felt her love through the love they shared with Joe.

Pat was an accomplished homemaker who loved nothing more than to entertain family and friends in their home in Chicago and Port Charlotte. Beautiful table settings, her remarkable way to remember every holiday & birthday with a handwritten card, her laughter, love and hugs will always be missed.

Joe worked for Darling International for 57 years. He was part of Darling's computer innovation that still stands today. He loved to fish, play chess, golf and cheer for his favorite sports teams; the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks, as well as his children and grandchildren's teams . He was a patient, loving and kind man who enjoyed a good cigar, a Manhattan and took every minute he could to savor every bite of a meal.

Together they built a life that we all wish to have, one of laughter, singing & dancing, game playing, watching sunsets and putting your toes in the sand. There was always room at their table, an umbrella in your drink and more food than you could ever finish. Pat and Joe served as ushers at Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, where they found their spiritual home in Florida. They were proud members of the Rotonda Elks Lodge, where many hours were spent enjoying the company of friends over a game of bags, bingo and drinks.

Many were fortunate to call Pat and Joe their dear Aunt & Uncle; Cousin; Godmother & Godfather; friend. They loved them all immensely and our world is a better place because they were in it.

A Celebration in Pat & Joe's memory will take place on October 16, 2025 from 3:00-8:00pm at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 Joliet Rd, Plainfield, IL. A funeral service in their honor will be held on October 17, 2025 at 10:00am at Plainfield United Methodist Church, 15114 Illinois St, Plainfield, IL. A combined burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
