Patricia P. Boyd, 92 of Franklin passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3rd, 2025.
She was born on October 15, 1933 in Morgantown, Indiana to Bert Barnes and Lucy (Wise) Barnes. Pat married Hugh Harter Boyd on October 8, 1953 at Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, Indiana. They were married for sixty-nine years. He preceded her in passing on January 8, 2023. She is survived by their two children, daughter, Lucianne Brownlee (Patrick) and son James Harter Boyd (Michelle). Other survivors include grandchildren, Jana L. Huffman (Jess), Dustin Harter Boyd (Autum), Blake P. Brownlee (Whitney) and many great grandchildren.
Pat was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School.
She was employed by Franklin Community Schools as a Tutor at Northwood Elementary and Webb Elementary, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Pat and Hugh trained everyday and competed all over the state in Race Walking. Their race times qualified them to be in the National Senior Olympics which was held in Syracuse, NY. They received, from the President of the United States, a signed award letter and medals.
She enjoyed going to Bible studies, reading and having Book discussions with friends. She was a wonderful seamstress, sewing her daughters' wedding gown, as well as other wedding gowns, bridesmaids' dresses and veils. She loved cooking and baking. Her Christmas tree cookies was a favored specialty.
Pat was an avid sports fan, enjoying watching basketball and football and loved going to her grandchildren's games.
Pat was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed.
A gathering for family and friends to share memories of Pat will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Compass Park Event Center, 824 Cornerstone Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
