Patricia Ann Chalifour, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17th at home surrounded by family. Pat grew up in Beverly where she graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School. Before retirement, she worked for many years at Johnny Appleseeds warehouse in Beverly in quality control. In earlier years, she worked as a crossing guard and part-time matron for the Beverly Police Department. She was also past president of the Emblem Club of the Beverly Elks. Pat was both an avid reader and devoted Red Sox fan, but her greatest passion and joy was her family, having raised seven children, sixteen grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Paul N. Chalifour, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Pat is survived by Paul N. Chalifour, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Boxford; Anne Marshall and her husband, Robert, of Peabody; Alvah John Chalifour and his wife, Patricia, of Beverly; Nancy J. Chalifour and partner, Carole Spencer, of Guilford, Connecticut; David Chalifour and his wife, Kimberlee, of Beverly; Maureen Anderson and her husband, Paul, of Beverly; and Gail Kerr and her husband, Thomas, of Stouffville, Ontario. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Cooper Adams Tucker. In addition, Pat was the sister of the late Gloria Turcotte, brothers Edward Bushey and Norman Bushey.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Monday, September 23rd at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Sunday, September 22nd from 1 to 4pm. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - New England Office, 313 Washington Street, Suite 310, Newton, MA 02458.
