Patricia Ann Cuplin, 80, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday December 11, 2024, in her home. Patricia was born May 20, 1944, in Freeport, the daughter of Harry and Theora (Reuber) DeGroff. She was a graduate of Dakota High School. Patricia married Gary Cuplin on January 16, 1965, in Freeport. Mr. Cuplin passed away on November 19, 2020. She enjoyed following NASCAR, Highland Community College Basketball, and the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, and Bears. Mrs. Cuplin was a hairdresser for 61 years and had many lifelong clients who she cherished, even doing a customer's hair on the day she passed away. Patricia enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her beloved family.
Surviving is her daughter, Sherri Cuplin of Chicago; sisters, Judy Wise, Sandy (Don) Christen, and Cindy (Neil) Klinger; sister-in-law, Karleen (Erv) Olson; three brothers-in-law, Craig (Anita Marsh) Cuplin, Mark (Lynne) Cuplin and Steven (Kris) Cuplin; also surviving special cousin, LuAnn Kryder; and many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary Cuplin; sister, Diane Hazel; father-in-law, Karl Cuplin; mother-in-law, Ruth (Kryder) Cuplin; sister-in-law, Sally Cuplin; and brothers-in-law, Lester Wise and Robert Cuplin; also preceding Patricia in death was Kenny Metz and Marty Cuplin-Rios.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday March 8, 2025 (exact times for funeral service and visitation TBD), at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport.
