Patricia (Trish) England, age 68, of The Villages, FL passed away on April 11, 2025. She was born in Mullens, West Virginia. Trish graduated from Astronaut High School in Titusville, FL and went on to graduate from Florida State University with her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Leisure Services. Trish was a dedicated and well-respected State Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol for 26 years, including time as an instructor, and in Habitual DUI Offender Enforcement, Community Oriented Police, and as a Corporal in Traffic Homicide Investigation. After her retirement from FHP, she took an adjunct professor position at what is now known as Florida State College at Jacksonville in the Criminal Justice Department. She also began to avidly pursue her own leisure interests including Traveling the World, Photography, Golfing, Fishing, and Birding – often combining all of them into exciting adventures. One of her greatest joys with her wife Sue Nelson, was creating "Aunt Camp" for her great nephew Nathan England, great nieces Carrie England, Addien England, Amberly England-Reynolds, and Alexia England, and her niece Hailey Nelson. Her family and friends would all agree that Trish's greatest gift was her ability to make people laugh, having that unique ability to add humor to any situation!
She is survived by her wife Sue Nelson whom she loved for over 41 years, her kitties Max and Sunny, her brother Howard (Kathie) England, her sister Lynn (Palmer) Barcus, her brother Bob (Deborah) England, her mother-in-law Harriet Nelson-Bee, brothers-in law Jeffrey (Bridget) Nelson and Adam (Nina) Nelson, and by multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, great nieces, and a great nephew. Trish is preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Paula England.
Family & friends will be gathering for casual dress Graveside Service on Friday May 2, 2025 at 9AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, FL. A Celebration of the Life of Patricia England is to be held from 12PM to 3PM at the Ezell Recreation Center 769 Marilee Place The Villages, Florida 32163. You are asked to dress casually so we all can share our favorite stories/memories of Trish.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation to the scholarship funds at Florida State University that Trish (and Sue) are very proud to have created and funded:
