Patricia A. "Petie" Forbush

Patricia A. "Petie" Forbush, 95, beloved wife of the late Richard "Dick" Forbush for 66 years, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and friend of many, Petie's quick wit left an impact on all who knew her. She was born on April 15, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Oliver and Mabel King. After graduating from Flint Central High School, she continued her education at Michigan State University, where she became a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, in which she remained active throughout her life. While living in the Theta house, she met the love of her life, Dick Forbush, who was working as a busboy there. They were married on February 9, 1952. Petie was invited to join the Tower Guard while at Michigan State and volunteered to assist blind students with reading and campus activities. Upon earning her Bachelor of Arts degree, she began her professional career at Michigan Bell. When Petie and Dick started their family, she chose to focus on raising their three daughters and devoted herself to making their home a place filled with love and laughter. The couple shared a strong circle of friends from their school days and enjoyed hosting parties and playing bridge together. Petie was a wonderful dancer, she and Dick would steal the spotlight on the dance floor, smiling in each other's arms. Petie will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, she always found a way to honor friends and family with the perfect card and note. Dick and Petie enjoyed being involved members at Northbrook Presbyterian Church in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Loving mother of Deb Collins (Mark), Sandy Koury (Mark), and Kathleen Christianson. Devoted grandmother of Michael Koury (Crystal), Kevin Collins (Laura), Beth Anne Koury, Erin Collins (Daniel Bachert), Mackenzie Collins (Brian White), Jordan Christianson, and Jensen Christianson. Proud great-grandmother of Caroline Koury, Jack Koury, Mia Collins, Carson Collins, Eli Bachert, Oliver White, and Colin White. Dear sister-in-law of the late Roger Forbush (Joey). The family will hold a private Memorial Service at a later date.
