Sally Ann Olah (nee Danbom), age 81, passed away peacefully on November 30th, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Detroit on February 8, 1944, to Carl and Evangeline Danbom, Sally grew up in Oak Park and attended Oak Park High School, where she met the love of her life, Victor Olah. After graduating, she began working at Michigan Bell, and in August 1968 she and Victor were married.
Following the birth of her first child, Sally devoted herself to raising her family in Troy, where she spent the remainder of her life. As a homemaker, she balanced caring for her children with volunteering at church and enjoying time with friends. Once her children went off to college, Sally reentered the workforce, where she formed lasting friendships. In retirement, she cherished traveling, boating, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, who were her pride and delight.
Sally was a loyal friend, maintaining close bonds that began in high school and treating many of those friendships as family. She treasured time spent with them and their loved ones. Sally's kindness, laughter, and love will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Victor Olah; her sons Brian (Jennifer) Olah and Kevin (Michael Bailey) Olah; her grandchildren Zachary Olah, Adam Olah, Ava Olah, and Elena Olah; her sister Sharon Hagen; and nieces and nephews Robert (Sharon) Hagen, Michelle (Ron) Miesch, and Kathleen (Bob) Bongiorno, Steven Olah, Susan (Dan) Wright, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother William Danbom; brothers-in-law Bernard (Buz) Hagen and Stephen Olah; and nephew and niece Michael and Jennifer Hagen.
