John Patrick Quinn, 79, of Gregory, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025. Born on November 2, 1945, to Hugh and Madelene Quinn, John lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family.

John proudly served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, with combat service in Da Nang, Vietnam. His brave service earned him the Purple Heart, a testament to his courage and sacrifice for his nation.

John graduated from Oak Park High School and after completing his military service worked for several companies including Wonderland Music, Martin Foundries, and Cook Paint, later earning an Associates Degree from Oakland Community College.

On May 27, 1967, John married the love of his life, Mary Ann, and together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with two sons: Eric Ian Quinn (Sandra) and Ryan Patrick Quinn (Laura). John was a devoted grandfather to Mara Quinn Darcy (Jack) and Kelly Quinn, and cherished his role as Grandpa aka Pa.

John is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ann; his sons Eric and Ryan and their wives; his treasured grandchildren; his brothers Michael (Patricia) Quinn and Robert Quinn; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis (Lydia) Quinn.

A man of varied interests, John was passionate about shooting sports, military memorabilia, and fishing. John took particular pride in his collection of military belt buckles, reflecting his deep respect for military history and service. His musical talents shone through his skill on the drums.

John's commitment to his community was evident through his volunteer work as a Cub Scout leader, where he helped shape the character of young scouts.

John will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal brother, and faithful friend. His legacy of service to his country and community, along with his unwavering love for his family, will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Sharing of Memories service for John will be held on Thursday, August 14th, at 11:00 AM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson. Friends and family are welcome to begin visiting at 10:00 AM. A luncheon at Shields will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Tunnels to Towers https://t2t.org/donate/ or Disabled American Veterans https://help.dav.org/page/66135/donate/1 in John's memory.
