Patricia Ann Ortego Fuselier, affectionately called "Pat" by all who knew her, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Pat was a mother at heart and deeply devoted to her family. She was a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Kenneth for 61 years, and took great joy in raising her children and nurturing her home. Known for her warm hospitality, she loved baking homemade bread and preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Pat also enjoyed fishing and sewing. Her faith was central to her life. Pat had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, Mary, and prayed the rosary daily. Her love and sacrifice as a mother were evident to all who knew her. As St. Faustina once wrote, "Suffering is the greatest treasure on earth." Pat's legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Those left to cherish Pat's memory include her husband, Kenneth Lee Fuselier; two sons, Bobby Fuselier and his wife Monique, and Billy Fuselier and his wife Kay; one her brother, Richard Ortego and his wife Lisa; seven grandchildren, Alex Mire (Joel), Chaz Fuselier (Mandy), Zachary Fuselier (Maggie), Katie Berzas (John Patrick), Ty Fuselier, Jolie Fuselier, and Bella Fuselier, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Paul, and Hazel Ortego, and one sister, Brenda Latour.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Chaz, Ty, and Zachary Fuselier, Luke and Joel Mire, and John Patrick Berzas.
