Patricia Anne Geller, of Allen, Texas, went to her heavenly home on January 28, 2023, after a courageous eighteen-month battle with leukemia. Pat was born on October 1, 1939, to Joseph and Carolyn Martin in Westphalia, Michigan. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Westphalia, Michigan was Pat's home for twenty-one years and there she learned the importance of faith, family, and friends. Pat married her high school sweetheart, Gene Geller, on December 28, 1960. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed five children into their home. In 1976, she and Gene moved from Michigan to Plano, Texas. This major life event was representative of her adventurous spirit. Pat took initiative and joined the St. Mark choir, enrolled the family in a family faith formation program, and got involved at each child's school.
Within months she was hosting work events and church events at her home. Because of her dedication and strong sense of community, the family thrived in their new Texas home.
Ultimately, Pat's strength of connectedness resulted in lifelong relationships that she and Gene treasured throughout her life.
Her nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild were her joy, and she spent many hours nurturing and loving them. Reading to them, baking and sewing with them, attending countless athletic events, dramas, and musical performances filled her life. Most importantly she modeled unconditional love and a devotion to her Catholic faith.
Pat enjoyed traveling and spending time in creative and charitable endeavors. Many miles were made on family car trips and traveling with Gene and friends created countless happy memories. She painted, decorated real egg dioramas as beautiful Christmas ornaments, reupholstered and refinished furniture, sewed and embroidered, and made beautiful ceramic dolls. She is also remembered for her amazing cooking and baking which was a talent she shared with her family and friends. Pat volunteered many hours at area hospitals and at her parish, St Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Pat is survived by her husband, Gene and their five children Jeanne Hayes and husband Brian, Brenda Lenzen and husband Larry, Nick Geller and wife Jan, Jim Geller and wife Alma, and Annie Quinn and husband Chris; nineteen grandchildren and their spouses Lance, Laurel (Andy), Matt (Bailey), Emily (Jack), Kelly, Jake, Adam, Joseph (Sarah), Erin (Austin), Ben, Gaby, Maggie, Patrick, Max, Anna, Ellie, Sam, Christopher, and Nicholas, and one great-grandchild Owen; sisters Beverly Nurenberg, Anne Smith and husband Ed, brother Jim Martin and wife Carla Turoff; in-laws Elizabeth Burns and husband John, Ruth Pline and husband Roger and Penny Craig along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at 6:00 p.m. with a Vigil service to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
There will be a mass held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas with The Rev. Bruce Bradley officiating. If you wish to join the mass via webcast, please visit: https://youtube.com/live/d1iPc3VFM2k?feature=share
