Patricia Ann Geroux

Patricia "Pat" Geroux, 82, of Bloomfield Hills, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 15, 2024. Born on July 15, 1942, in Detroit to Donald and Helen Schell, Pat grew up in Royal Oak, MI. She attended Shrine Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Dondero High School before earning her degree from Oakland University, where she became a licensed social worker.
Pat was deeply dedicated to helping others navigate their grief. For many years, she served as a bereavement counselor for Hospice of Southeast Michigan, providing support to those experiencing loss. Her compassion extended beyond her professional work; she also hosted the television program "Life Transitions" with Marilyn Gilbert, sharing her insights and guidance with a broader audience.
A longtime active parishioner at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church, Pat was committed to her community. At the school, she volunteered in the Learning Resource Center and coached softball, basketball, and soccer, and cherished those times being engaged with her children and their peers.
Family was the cornerstone of Pat's life. Her boundless love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren defined her. She cherished cooking and hosting family gatherings, particularly during the holidays. Her family was her pride and joy, and she will always be remembered as the most compassionate, caring, and loving matriarch.
Pat was the beloved wife of Jim for 61 years. Loving mother of Julie Greene (Dominic), Carrie Barrett (Thomas), Debra Geroux (Stuart Heath), Marc Geroux (Melissa), Suzanne Ashcraft (Danny), and the late J. William Geroux. Devoted grandma of Brendan (Melissa), Michael (Laura), Andrea (Brian), Kevin (Rachel), Thomas (fiancé AnnMarie), Lindsay (Brandon), Tyler (Saaja), Kyle, McKelvie, Ainsley, Oliver, and Collin. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 pm with Rosary service 7pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks (btw Maple & Big Beaver), Troy, 248-362-2500. Funeral Mass Monday 10 a.m. at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins at 9:30 a.m.
