Patricia Phillips Holmes

Born in Colfax, Louisiana to the late Mr. Leroy and Elnora Phillips, both to whom proceeded her in death along with her older sister Mary Ann Mills-Turner and brother, Willie Wade Jones and a host of other loving relatives. Patricia, lovingly known as, "Cookie" leaves behind one son, Urick Shannon Phillips, sisters, Carolyn "Cathy" Phillips, Maxine Chartier, Tessie King and last surviving brother, Louis "Butch" Phillips. In addition, she leaves her grandson, Damien Vellema, granddaughter Haley Bugg, a great-grandson, Jream and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time faithful friends who loved her beyond measure. Cookie further leaves behind her fur babies, Rocky and Misty who were her companions until the end. Our dear Cookie arrived in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1969 as a fifteen-teen year old and was a proud graduate of Harrison High School (class of 1971) and Blair College (class of 1985). Although she worked in various positions in her lifetime, her greatest was in working for the Fort Carson Department of Defense until her retirement in 2020. Cookie, ever faithful to God and his teachings accepted Christ at an early age at St John Baptist Church and frequented New Direction Baptist Church where she further learned of God's teachings. She humbly believed in the peace that Heaven provides and peacefully surrendered her earthly body to obtain her wings, and although she was loved by many on Earth, God loved her more and invited her home to the land of peace, riches and family who welcomed her.
