Patricia Lois Lane, 86, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully in her home on July 23rd, 2025.
Born in Newark to the late Arthur and Ethel (Sietz) Lane, she was raised in Lyndhurst and graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1955. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Humanities from The Pennsylvania State University in 1976.
Patricia devoted her professional life to education and service. She served as the Director of Religious Education from 1983 to 1988 and worked as a paralegal from 1983 until her retirement in 2003. She lived in Stockholm for several years before settling in Hamburg in 2018.
Predeceased by her parents, Patricia is survived by her son, Dr. D. Charles Kowalewski Jr., and his wife, Cathy; her daughters, Karen Zaugg and her husband, Steven, and Kristin Kowalewski; grandchildren, Beth Soave, Donald Charles Kowalewski III, Dominique Zaugg, Kelsey Kowalewski, Ciara Zaugg, and Sydney Striegel-Burch; as well as her brother, John Lane and his wife, Louise; her sister, Laurie Scott and her husband, Steve; and her loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Patricia will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, from 10am to 12pm at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. A funeral service will take place at 12pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). Online condolences may be offered to the family at fergusonfuneralhomesnj.com.
