Patricia M. Lauer

Patricia M. Lauer, born on August 27, 1934 in New York City, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Saddle River, New Jersey.
The daughter of the late Patrick and Beatrice (Leonard) Mulligan, Pat grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family. She was the beloved sister to Margaret and her husband, Thomas Keane, both of whom predeceased her. Though she outlived many of her closest relatives, the bonds she formed with her nieces, Susan and Peggy, and nephews, Mark and Tom, remained a source of joy throughout her life.
In her youth, Pat graduated from secretarial school and worked for the New York Telephone Company where she met her husband, Gene Lauer. She later embraced the role of homemaker and with Gene, enjoyed a full and happy life until his passing in 2010.
Pat's Irish heritage was a proud and integral part of her identity and she enjoyed traditional music and dance. She had a passion for nature and gardening which was evident in the vibrant blooms and abundant vegetables that she enjoyed sharing with friends and family. An active member of the Lake Lincolndale Property Owners Association, Pat's was a familiar face at clubhouse events and on the beach each summer.
A cornerstone of Pat's life was her faith. She was an active parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and over the years, traveled extensively with her church family.
Pat was a gentle presence and steadfast supporter of her loved ones. Her home was a place where family and friends were always welcome, and her legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of those she touched. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
A Visitation and Mass will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at Cargain Funeral Home, 418 Route 6 (GPS US6), Mahopac, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY.
Following the Mass, Patricia will be escorted to her final resting place alongside her beloved husband, Gene, at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 357 Route 202, Somers, NY.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in memory of Patricia to Spectrum for Living.
