Magnuson, Patricia, age 86, of Chanhassen, passed away June 28 surrounded by family following a sudden illness.
Pat was raised in South Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. In July of 1957 she married Marvin Magnuson and they enjoyed 63 years together. Pat worked at Armstrong Flooring before she stayed at home to raise her children. She later started a career as a secretary for IDS/American Express Financial Services in the IDS Tower in downtown Minneapolis.
Pat enjoyed traveling, spending time at the family cabin on Lower Bottle Lake, playing cards, baking and decorating fantastic cakes, biking and most of all spending time with her four grandchildren and family. She also loved getting together and traveling with her large group of close friends who met at Sanford Junior High and Roosevelt High school and named themselves the Beta Kais.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Marv, brothers Dennis and Tom Durigan, parents Emmett and Gladys Durigan and special friend Jerry Reckdahl. She is survived by daughter Julie Mattson, son Gary (Angela) Magnuson and grandchildren Danielle and Grant (Mikaela) Magnuson and Tabitha and Luke Mattson.
A special thank you to the staff at Methodist Hospital, Hopkins Health Services, Brighton Hospice and Riley Crossing Senior Living for the phenomenal care you gave to Pat and the family.
Services will be held on Monday, July 21 at the Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie. Visitation begins at 10 am and services at 11 am with a luncheon to follow.
