Patricia McGuire, 70, of Bordentown, NJ, formerly of Chesterfield, NJ, passed away on
August 6, 2024, at Virtua Hospital, Willingboro, NJ.
Born in Long Branch, NJ, Patricia grew up in Matawan, NJ and Farmington, MI. She
graduated from Farmington High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science
degree from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, MI. She began her career in
academic food service across venues in Vermont and New Jersey. She enjoyed an
extensive career with the Burlington County Health Department, Environmental Section,
Mt. Holly, NJ. Patricia retired after 27 years of public health service as a Senior
Registered Environmental Health Specialist. She resided in Bordentown, NJ for 20
years.
Her motto was "Keep Moving!" And she did just that, taking up cross-country skiing,
snowshoeing, hiking, aquacise classes, canoeing and, her favorite, kayaking, with joy
and enthusiasm. Pat was also a long-time member of the Bordentown Community
Players. She was a sure and steady backstage presence for many a hectic production
in Crosswicks and Mt. Holly. Whether she was running props, painting scenery, or
stage managing a play, she never missed a cue.
Pat was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, friend, and neighbor. She is
survived by her sisters and brothers, Ruth, Michael, Jean, Mary Ann, Andrew, Sharon,
and her wonderful nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh V.
and Ruth M. McGuire, and her brother, Stephen McGuire.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, September 18,
2024, from 10 am to 11 am, at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown, NJ. A
memorial service will follow at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at
Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown, NJ following the service.
Patricia, Pat, Patty. She preferred to be called Pat by friends and colleagues, because
she felt Patricia was too fancy and formal. Patty was reserved for her parents, her
sisters and brothers. She was and always will be "Our Patty".
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's memory to the Sierra Club,
