Obituary of Patricia Ann Richie
Patricia Ann Richie, age 76, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 4th, 1948, to William Paul Williams and Frances Catherine Pendergast at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Patty attended Sts. Peter & Paul grade school and graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in 1966.
On September 28, 1991, Patty married the love of her life, James William Richie, in Tulsa, OK. They shared 32 wonderful years of marriage until James' passing. Patty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Richie, her father, Paul Williams, her mother, Fran Pendergast, her brother, Gary Williams, and her son, Robert Richie.
She is survived by her son Roger Watson and wife Charity of Broken Arrow; son Sean Richie and wife Tammy of Sapulpa; daughter-in-law Cynthia Richie of Tulsa; her cherished grandchildren Brittany Webb and husband Andrew of Tulsa; Baylee Richie of Sapulpa; Alyssa Richie and partner Mike of Sapulpa; Ashley Richie and partner Tyler; Rian Richie and partner Brandon; and Jacob Richie, all of Tulsa. Patty was also the proud great-grandmother of Bentlee of Sapulpa, Oliver and Troy of Tulsa.
She is also survived by her brothers, Stephen Williams and wife Chris of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Kevin Williams and Jan Ray of Tulsa. Patty leaves behind her brother-in-law, Terry Richie and wife Sherri of Fort Gibson; sister-in-law, Diana Richie of New Castle; and brother-in-law, David Jordan of Harrah.
A lifelong member of the Community Freewill Baptist Church in Kiefer, Patty served as a Sunday School teacher and was known for her unwavering faith in the Lord. She set a remarkable example of what it means to live as a Christian, demonstrating love, kindness, and compassion in all aspects of her life.
Patty enjoyed a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell, where she worked for 29 years before retiring. After retirement, Patty found great joy working with children at Washington Elementary Latchkey, Early Learning Center at FUMC, Holmes Park Latchkey, and volunteering as a tutor at Creek County Literacy.
Patty's love for life was reflected in her hobbies and interests. She adored Toosie Rolls, bubble wrap, cookies, and eating Spaghettios straight from the can. She had a passion for reading, home improvement shows, useless trivia, and was known to enjoy really bad puns.
Above all, Patty was a loving wife, mother, and Grammy who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
