Patricia A. Rick, 88, of Hamilton Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, in the Serenity Hospice Unit of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton.
Patricia "Pat" was born on April 25, 1937 in Trenton, the only child of the late Albert and Helen Barton Reeves. A lifelong resident of the Trenton area, she graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954. Before marrying her high school sweetheart John "Jack" Rick, Jr. in 1958, Pat worked in the Chancery Office for the Diocese of Trenton.
Along with her husband, Pat prided herself on serving her church community and her children's schools. An active member of the Trenton Diocesan Parent Teacher Association for 18 years, she held several leadership roles including PTA President of Cathedral Grammar School (1967-1969) and Holy Cross Grammar School (1972-1974), Trenton Regent (1973-1975), and Diocesan Vice President (1977-1979). Her service culminated as Trenton Diocesan Council PTA president from 1981 to 1983. Her friendships and travels from her PTA years were some of her fondest memories. Following her PTA service, she returned to work part-time at the Chancery and as a secretary at IMO in Lawrence.
A consummate host, Pat loved to welcome her family and friends into her home. She was an avid gardener and exceptional baker. When Pat and Jack moved to Locust Hill in Hamilton in 2004, she continued to serve her community, volunteering at RWJ Hospital Hamilton and joining both the Nottingham Garden Club and the Veterans Park Walkers Club. Pat was a loyal and caring friend. In her later years, she treasured her monthly gatherings with her lunch bunch.
Pat was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Known affectionately as Mimi, she filled her family's lives with laughter, words of wisdom, and delicious treats. Her family takes comfort in the knowledge that she is now reunited with the love of her life, her Jack.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Helen "Nana" Reeves; her parents-in-law, John Sr. and Mary Rick.; brother-in-law, John Rugarber; and her loving husband of 66 years, John "Jack" Rick, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Erin and David Shea, of Cranbury; her grandson, granddaughter-in-law, and great-granddaughter, Ryan, Jenna, and Grace Shea of Bordentown; her granddaughter, Meghan Shea of Alexandria, VA; her son and daughter-in-law, John III and Sheila Rick of Dunellen and their daughters, Tracy Kasper and Kelli Petroni; her sisters-in-law, Marianne Rugarber of Hamilton and Karen (Patrick) McManimon of Ewing; several beloved cousins, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Pat's family is grateful for the care she was provided over the past several years at Volante, formerly Homestead, Assisted Living, especially this past year following Jack's passing.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way,
