With hearts full of love and heavy with grief, we remember Patricia "Pat" Ann Robbins Darcangelo, who passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on June 20, 1944, in
Corning, NY, Pat was the cherished daughter of Van E. and Evelyn (Little) Robbins. Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.
Pat's life was defined by her unwavering strength, fierce independence, and extraordinary intellect. A 1961 graduate of Corning Free Academy, she pursued higher learning with dedication, earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics from SUNY and later a certification in Organization Development from Columbia University. She devoted over 26 years to Corning Incorporated, where her career spanned multiple leadership and professional roles, including Marketing Communications, Advertising & Promotion, Business Development, Engineering Manufacturing, Accounting, New Employee and Acquisition Orientation, and Human Resources/Organizational Effectiveness.
Beyond her corporate accomplishments, Pat poured her heart into coaching and consulting, guiding individuals toward personal and professional growth, enhancing team performance, fostering inclusive workplaces, and shaping organizational effectiveness. She brought clarity, vision, and encouragement to everyone she worked with, leaving a legacy of empowerment and transformation.
Pat also gave generously to her community. She served as a Board Member of Community Progress, Inc., facilitated the Peace by Piece Family Violence Education Program, led conferences at Watson Homestead, a member of the Schuyler County Water Quality Coordinating Committee (WQCC) and co-chaired the Meads Creek Watershed Citizens' Committee. She also served as President of the Keuka Brewers Association. Her commitment to making her community stronger, fairer, and more connected reflected the depth of her compassion and her belief in the power of collective action.
Pat's personal life was equally vibrant. She was a gifted gardener whose love for nature bloomed in every corner of her yard, a talented cook who nourished her family and friends with both food and warmth, and a spirited adventurer who embraced life to the fullest. She traveled widely, rafting the Colorado River on a weeklong whitewater trip where she met and befriended a Navajo woman she later visited in Arizona; exploring Tuscany to learn authentic Italian cooking; and visiting Paris, Barbados, Reno, and her beloved Sanibel Island and Anna Maria Island on many occasions.
She enjoyed friendly competition in bowling and golf leagues for years and proudly achieved a hole-in-one at Indian Hills Golf Course. For at least the past decade, Pat began each day with a three-mile walk along the trails and back roads of East Campbell, through every season and all kinds of weather. She loved music, especially her all-time favorite band, The Eagles, and she could always be found with a New York Times crossword puzzle in progress while faithfully watching Jeopardy each night.
She is survived by her loving children, Lynne (Michael) Case and Stephen (Kathy) Darcangelo; grandchildren Kyle (Amanda) Sutton, Shelby (Jason) Bierwiler, Lauren (Jeffrey) Robinson, Alexi (Mickey) Sonner, and Richard Darcangelo II; and great-grandchildren Mason and Easton Sutton, Wyatt Bierwiler, and Gavin, Parker, Spencer, and Dominic Sonner. She is also survived by her brother Roger (Donna) Robbins; sisters Bonnie Gillis and Nancy Horton; sisters-in-law Patricia, Carol, and Joyce Robbins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Van and Evelyn (Little) Robbins; the father of her children, Richard W. Darcangelo; brothers Carlton, Robert, Edward, and Arthur Robbins; and sisters Norma Davies and Barbara Boyce.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at The Y at Watson Woods (formerly Watson Homestead), Dry Run Road, Painted Post.
Pat's life was a testament to strength, love, and purpose. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on every life she touched. Though she will be missed beyond words, her spirit will continue to bloom in every garden she tended, every meal she shared, and every heart she inspired.
