It is with loving hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Patricia "Ms. Pat" Rogers, who entered into eternal rest on January 3rd, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on February 2nd, 1945, in Thomaston, Georgia, to Morris Kelly Sr. and Helen Kelly, Patricia's life was a testament to the love and care she brought into this world.
Ms. Pat was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Wayne Rogers, and together they shared a life filled with joy and devotion. Her legacy continues through her children, Rhonda Gunnells, Christy McGiboney (Amanda), and Terry Rogers (Rachel). She was a pillar of strength and affection for her grandchildren Brad Colasso (Michael), Amanda Rahl (Kyle Sr.), Aaron Dean (Alexis Grant), Matt Gunnells, Travis Gunnells (Callie), Baylee Gunnells, Kayla Greene, and Katie Hewitt (Dylan). The light of her life shone brightly upon her great-grandchildren Christopher Rahl Jr., Adden Rahl, Cheyenne Rahl, Arthur Dean, Peyton Gunnells, Jaxon Gunnells, Lily Gunnells, Jonesy Gunnells, Kiley Greene, Lilly Hewitt, Kenzzie Baker, Kayden Baker, Kamryn Hewitt, Eviee Hewitt, and Charlee White.
Patricia is also survived by her loving siblings, Wanda Capes (Phil), Morris Kelly Jr. (Donna), and Keith Kelly, who will continue to honor her memory and the love she had for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry, grandson Justin White, sister Brenda Vining, sister-in-law Patty Kelly, and son-in-law Jimmy "Bo" Gunnells.
Ms. Pat's professional life was devoted to nurturing and caring for children at Kid's Haven and Milestones, where she was affectionately known as Ms. Pat. Her kindness, patience, and loving nature left an indelible impression on all the lives she touched. She was not just a caregiver but a surrogate mother to many, earning her the title of "a mother to everyone."
Her interests and joys in life were many and varied. Patricia cherished her role as a faithful member of Canaan Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia, where she found solace, community, and an extension of her family. She had an unparalleled zest for life, enjoying social outings and the simple pleasure of a meal shared with friends and family. Her culinary skills were a gift she generously shared, cooking for those she loved and ensuring no one ever left her table hungry.
Ms. Pat's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and compassion. Her spirit of generosity and her unwavering faith were sources of inspiration to all who knew her. The warmth of her presence and the joy of her laughter will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
As we bid farewell to Mrs. Patricia Rogers, we celebrate a life that was rich in love and abundant in blessings. Her memory will be cherished, and her legacy will live on through the many hearts she touched. Ms. Pat's journey on earth has ended, but her story continues in the lives of those she loved so dearly.
A Funeral Service for Ms. Pat will be at 1:00PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Canaan Baptist Church. Interment will be held at New Covington Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church from 12:00PM until 1:00PM prior to the service.
