Patricia Ann VanTassel

Patricia "Patty" Ann Van Tassel, 64, of Catskill, NY, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on April 7th, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 20th, 1960, to Dominick and Julia Latorraca.
Patty is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Elwood, and her cherished daughters Jessica Irwin and Theresa (Jermaine) Edmond.
She leaves behind her mother Julia Latorraca, her brother John (Camille) Latorraca, and a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren: Elijah, Ava, JJ, Sadie, Amirah, and Jermaine.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her sister Theresa and son-in-law Jason Irwin.
After graduating from Coxsackie-Athens, Patty pursued higher education at Columbia Greene Community College, where she graduated with honors. She enjoyed a fulfilling career at First Niagara Bank and H & R Block, where she made lasting friendships and positively impacted colleagues and clients.
Patty had a vibrant spirit and a zest for life. She loved music and dancing, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends. A devoted Godzilla fan, she delighted in watching the movies and collecting memorabilia related to the iconic character.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours at W. C. Brady's Sons Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion St., Coxsackie, NY, on Friday, April 18th, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A celebration of Patty's life will follow immediately at the QWL Hall in Coxsackie, NY.
