Patricia (Patty) Voss, age 83, came to rest on June 1, 2025, after a recent battle with cancer. She was born on December 4, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Jack and Honey Linehan. Patty was the oldest of five sisters: Elizabeth (David) Blattner, Ann (Don) Hart, Ellen Walters and the late Margaret (Scott) Lee. She was preceded in death by her son Carl David Voss.
Patty is survived by her high school sweetheart, Carl, who she married in 1961 and her children: John (Susan) Voss, Kathleen Voss and Timothy (Amy) Voss. She was survived by 10 grandchildren: Traci (Kevin) Edson, Toni (Arthur) Millis, Sean (Connie) Pe, David Pe, Shannon (Kyle) Schafer, Mary Jane (Peter) Metzdorff, Mark Voss, Anne Voss, Elizabeth Voss, Ava Voss. Patty and Carl also had seven great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
Patty, Carl, and their children lived in Madison, WI, and Minneapolis, MN, before moving to Naperville in 1975. Patty began working part-time at Marshall Field's as "Christmas help" in 1976. She stayed on for 26 more years, rising to become the manager of the China and Crystal departments, first at the Fox Valley store and then at the Oakbrook store. One of her favorite assignments was managing the Christmas department. She retired from Field's in 2003.
Patty and Carl loved to travel the world with friends and relatives. When at home, she took pride in her gardens, showcasing the skills she learned at the Morton Arboretum and working part-time at the Growing Place.
Patty served as an officer of the Welcome Wagon Club in 1976. She volunteered at DuPage PADS and sang in the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church choir.
