Patricia A. Whritenour, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on May 25, 1939, Patricia (Pat) grew up with a strong sense of family, love, and resilience - qualities that shaped the remarkable woman she became.
On August 8, 1958, she married the love of her life, Alex Whritenour. Together they shared 67 years of marriage, raising six children and creating a lifetime of cherished memories. Pat and Alex built a home rooted in family, support, and commitment.
A longtime resident of Sharon, Massachusetts, Pat dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth and steady presence created a home where everyone felt welcome and supported. Pat loved everyone and everything about her family, and she filled her house with food and laughter anytime she could. Her family will forever remember her gentle nature, her strength, and the pride she took in each of them.
Pat is survived by her six children: David and his wife Lorraine Whritenour of Connecticut; Denise and her husband Steve McCooey of Rhode Island; Alex III and his wife Judi Whritenour of Massachusetts; Patty Ann and her husband Steve Glassman of Florida; Lori Songin of Massachusetts; and PJ and his wife Danielle Whritenour of Florida. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was predeceased by her husband Alex.
Pat leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough, Massachusetts, on December 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private burial at Bourne National Cemetery will follow.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Patricia's memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
