Patrick Michael O'Reilly of Venice, Florida, passed away on September 13, 2023. Pat was born on April 11, 1942, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late C.P. O'Reilly and Mary Jane (Plummer) O'Reilly.
Pat earned his B.S. Degree in Industrial Management in 1967 from St. Josephs College in Indiana. He initially worked in the Chicago area for a large oil company and was transferred to the East Coast in Connecticut. He was a Senior Human Resource Executive for a major Textile Company for many years.
In his later career, he was Vice President of Human Resources for a large health care company in the Boston area. He was a proud graduate of OCS at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and he served his country during the Vietnam War as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Artillery.
He initially retired in 2002 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Pat loved the outdoors and camping. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was very interested in genealogy and military history and enjoyed playing a variety of musical instruments. He coached youth football in the Pop Warner League for several years. He was an avid Notre Dame sports fan.
He relocated in 2014 with his wife, Margaret Mary (Canning) O'Reilly, to Venice, Florida where he was a member of the choir at Epiphany Cathedral and The Civil War Roundtable. During his retirement he enjoyed many trips to Ireland with his wife, Margaret.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is survived by his sons, Patrick, Michael, and John; two stepsons, Brian and Andre Cea, and a nephew Chris Iverson in Lapeer, Michigan.
The burial will be private at Cedar Grove Cemetery at the University of Notre Dame.

Mr O'Reilly was my father's longtime close friend--he has been in my life most of my life and was almost like an Uncle to me. We grew up with his sons and loved the time we all spent at Dan Hole Pond in New Hampshire. We especially loved it when his mother Mary Jane would come up to the pond and entertain us with her portable Yamaha organ! He and Meggs shared many holidays and celebrations with us--weddings, anniversaries and other festive events. I will always remember his quiet manner, warm smile and great sense of humor. God has welcomed him home with open arms. May He use those same arms to comfort those of us left behind to mourn our loss.
