Patrick D. Sullivan, 72, of Northglenn, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. He was born on September 19, 1952, in Aurora, Colorado, to Joseph L. Sullivan and Verna L. Sullivan (Holtmann).
Patrick grew up in Colorado surrounded by his beloved siblings Tom, Linda, Joan, Fred, and Jim. He treasured their friendship and the countless memories they shared throughout their lives and he remained close with them always. On December 29, 1973, Patrick married the love of his life, Theresa Lynn Warburton, in Dallas, Texas at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church. Shortly after, they made their home in Northglenn, Colorado, where they built a beautiful life together for 52 years. The highlight of their lives was raising their three children-Shawn Patrick (married to Cheri in 2005), Je ery Dennis (married to Crystal in 2008), and Rebecca Lynn (married to Robert in 2002).
Patrick was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He cherished his grandchildren-Hailey Rene (1998), Kyle Lee (2006), Patrick Riley (2006), Blake Lee (2009), Wyatt James (2010), Paisley Rain (2012), and Payton Rylie (2012)-as well as his great-granddaughter, Amaria Rae (2018). He delighted in the energy, laughter, and "wildness" of his grandchildren and loved watching them learn, grow, and bond with one another. As his family grew, Patrick loved to squeeze in closer and closer, especially during the holidays when he proudly served his homemade ham, sauce, and breadballs. Patrick began his career as a Pipefitter with the Sheet Metal Association on July 9, 1973, working with the Rio Grande Railroad. He retired with the Union Pacific Railroad in 2001. During those years, he formed many lifelong friendships and enjoyed playing catcher on the Rio Grande Railroad softball team for several years. He remained close with his childhood friends as well.
Patrick and Theresa filled their family's days with camping trips, fishing, and countless adventures and activities that created a lifetime of memories. As an avid outdoorsman, Patrick introduced his sons to hunting when they were only one month old, giving Theresa a little extra rest, and later carried on the tradition with his grandsons-though he waited until they were slightly older. His outdoor adventures continued this past summer when he enjoyed camping with his children and grandchildren, even as recently as this past month.
Patrick was also a devoted sports fan who kept his family up to date on every game and was always ready to cheer on his teams. He was known for watching games from his garage so often that his mother-in-law, Pat Warburton, installed a doorbell on his side garage door for visitors. Patrick shared a close bond with both Pat and Bob Warburton, his loving in-laws, who were an important part of his life and family.
Above all, Patrick was a family man who poured his love, energy, and time into those closest to him. His love for his family, the outdoors and sports will live on with all who were blessed to know him. He will truly be missed and we will hold him in our hearts. We look for him to guide us through our journeys and keep us all close and safe.
God bless you, Patrick D. Sullivan, we will love you always.
