Patsy Thomas Powell, age 88, departed this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Methodist Germantown Hospital. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Cemetery, in the Nutbush Community, with Monsignor J. Edwin Creary officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
Patsy was born on August 22, 1935, in Haywood County to Luther and Mildred Lea Thomas. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Germantown, TN. She was a homemaker and was a devoted mother, wife, sister and grandmother. She loved her Tibbs Community. She enjoyed gardening, golf and spending time at her cabin in the country at “Powell Pond”. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She also had a special place in her heart for her dog, Millie Jean.
She is survived by one son, Wesley R. Powell (Michael Rourke) of New York, NY; one daughter, Lisa Powell Brown (Scott) of Germantown, TN; her fur baby, Millie Jean; four grandchildren, Beckett and Olivia Lea Rourke and Benjamin and William Brown. The family wishes to express their love and heartfelt appreciation to caregivers, Lakesha Brooks, Rosie, Tia, and Shaunna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Railey Powell; her parents, Luther and Mildred Lea Thomas; her brother, James Thomas and her sister, Janie Thomas.
