Obituary of Patti A. Diehl
Patricia "Patti" A. Diehl, 71, of Fort Plain passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.
She was born on March 3, 1952, to Joseph and Margaret Diehl of Newburgh, NY.
Patti loved her M&Ms, chocolate pudding, quarters, and a Diet Pepsi to go with her chocolate. She was determined to communicate her wants and her needs. Patti enjoyed crafting and was a talented crocheter. She especially loved going to the Chinese Buffet, for the unlimited crab rangoon, with her sister Carol. Patti was a fashionista who loved being dressed to the nines and enjoyed shopping and putting beautiful outfits together. More than anything she loved being around people, and made friends easily.
She was employed by Liberty Enterprises and volunteered her time to various fundraisers held by Liberty over the years. She took pride in giving back to her community, especially to the children. She was instrumental in starting the Snack Bag program to ensure children at the Canajoharie school had snacks throughout the weekend, she bagged care bags and delivered them to the Pediatric Cancer Unit at Albany Medical as well as the St Mary's Emergency Room. She was also a volunteer at Meals on Wheels where she worked to pack meals for delivery throughout Montgomery County.
She is survived by her sister Carol LaNay of Newburgh, NY, and niece Deborah Schneider, as well as her loving Liberty family.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 12:00pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Funeral Home 69 Otsego St, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
