Patty Louise Florkowski

Patty Louise Florkowski, Age 80, of Roscommon, MI passed away at home on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Patty was born on May 15, 1945, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Ralph Miles Leighton and Nettie Rose (Morris) Leighton, sister to Michael, Cheryl and John.

On June 20, 1970, Patty married James Florkowski in Detroit, Michigan, beginning a marriage that would span 55 years.

Patty will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Her vibrant spirit was reflected in her many passions. She was a dedicated teacher, artist, an avid dancer, and a skilled dog show handler. A passionate advocate for social justice and human rights, Patty believed deeply in the dignity of all people and the importance of inclusivity. She was a lover of all living things and inspired those around her to embrace life with the same kindness and openness.

Patty's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband, James; her son, Michael, and daughter-in-law Amanda; her cherished granddaughter, Sophia; as well as nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Nettie Leighton.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.
