Paul Everett Beecham

Paul Everett Beecham, MD, 85, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024. He was born April 22, 1938 to Everett Casher Beecham and Effie Mae Smith Beecham in Jacksonville, Florida. He spent his childhood in St. Augustine until the age of 12 when his family moved to Decatur, Georgia. Paul graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School, Southern Tech, Asbury College, and the Medical College of Georgia. He raised his family in Roswell, Georgia and practiced psychiatry in the Atlanta area and for the Georgia Department of Corrections until the age of 81.
An active member of Roswell United Methodist Church since 1973, Paul was also a member of Christians Under Construction (CUC) Sunday School Class. He loved singing in the Sanctuary Choir and with the Prime Time Singers, teaching Sunday School classes, and participating in mission trips to Panama, Belize, Peru, and Kenya. He enjoyed running as a hobby and completed the Peachtree Road Race over 25 times. He also loved hiking, car racing, traveling for pleasure, and enjoying Sunday dinners with his family.
Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sara Jane Miller Beecham; his sons Steve (Mary) and Stan; brother Harry (Sandy); and grandchildren Connor, Kate White (Isaac), Elyse, Will and Colin.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Roswell United Methodist Church, 814 Mimosa Boulevard, with a reception immediately following.
