Paul Edward Bowman, 90, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away on August 6, 2024 at North Kansas City Hospice Center.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13 from 10:00 to 11:00 at Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, followed by 11:30 gravesite services at New Union Cemetery in Lawson, Missouri.
Paul was the youngest of 10 children born in Carter County, Van Buren, Missouri to William S. Bowman and Pearl nee (Nichols) Bowman on September 30, 1933.
In 1953 he enlisted in the United States Army and was deployed to Germany.
While there, he was awarded a Sharp Shooters medal and trained as an Anti Aircraft /Anti Tank Artillery crewman using a 90MM gun. When honorably discharged, besides receiving a Sharp Shooter medal he received the National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) as well as a Good Conduct Medal.
June 1, 1957, he married Ann Elizabeth Alley of Fremont, Missouri and moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
After retiring from the Ford Motor Company they moved to Excelsior Springs, Missouri in 1991.
He and his wife joined the Pisgah Baptist church in Excelsior Springs, where he was saved and baptized.
Paul enjoyed all outdoor activities including: hunting, fishing and boating.
He was preceded in death by his son Arthur Lee Bowman.
Survivors include, his wife Ann, daughters Loretta DeLuca and Sheila Whiles, Granddaughters, Andrea DeLuca, Jessica Whiles and Erica Whiles all of Kansas City, Missouri, as well as eight great grandchildren.
