Paul M. Bump, 78, of Towanda, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness.
Paul was born on September 4, 1946, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Frank and Cora (McNeal) Emory.
Paul was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving three tours overseas during the Vietnam War. Paul was always very proud when people would stop him to thank him for his service. He was the Forest Fire Warden for 50 years. He was a member of the Monroe Hose Company for 62 years, serving as Chief for 11 years and a life member of the Monroeton Gun Club. Paul was a life member of the VFW Post 6072 in Asylum and a 50-year member of the American Legion Post #42, Towanda, PA.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years; Linda (Howard) Bump, daughter; Susan Thompson, daughter and son-in-law; Penny and Joe Myner, son and daughter-in-law; Ronald and Faith McNeal, son; John McNeal, grandchildren; Samantha Thompson, Paul Myner, Kelsey McNeal, Keegan McNeal, Levi McNeal, and Jared McNeal, and great-grandchildren; Venessa, Kiera, Olivia, Emma, Alaina, Sophia Rose. He also survived by his brother; Marty Qualman, sisters; Sherry Vincent and Isabelle Bump, brother; Clifford Bump, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by son; James McNeal, son-in-law; Michael Thompson, and brothers; Walter Bump, Alfred Bump, and George "Sonny" Bump.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11am at Monroeton Cemetery, Route 220, Monroeton, PA with Pastor Rober Nacci officiating. Military Honors will be accorded following the service.
The family is being assisted by the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
