Paul Lyndon Cooper, 59, of Hurlock, Maryland passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. Born on December 29, 1964 in Seaford, Delaware, he was the youngest son of the late J. Franklin Cooper and Marilyn Miller Cooper.
Paul graduated from the class of 1982 from Delmar Jr./Sr. High School. Upon his graduation, he studied at Penn State. Later he transferred to Salisbury University where he studied Music Education and he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He began his music teaching career at South Dorchester K-8 School. He earned his Masters of Education with a concentration in music degree while continuing to teach. Throughout Paul's life he enjoyed playing piano and drums in church and in many local bands. He played piano dinner music in some Ocean City restaurants and played for some dinner theater groups. In addition to his musical talent, he enjoyed sewing which he learned from his Grandmother Cooper. He was a wonderful cook and knew exactly how to season dishes just right. Paul loved the Green Bay Packers NFL football team and he loved the Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball teams. He was a true fan and stuck by his teams win or lose. Paul's main focus was his family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sarah McGee Cooper of Sharptown, children Hannah Elizabeth Cooper and Isaac Ellis Cooper; brother Mark Cooper and his wife April Cooper, her mother Dot Hickman, niece Amber Cooper, nephew Wayne Cooper, other nephews from his deceased brother Robert Cooper, John Robert Cooper and Philip Cooper. Paul's oldest brother Johnny Cooper passed away in 1975 in an accident after just graduating high school.
A celebration of life memorial luncheon is being planned and details will be posted on Facebook at a later date. The events date is being considered for some time in early March. Hurlock Elementary School is providing the meat for our luncheon. If you are able, the family is asking each group to bring one covered dish. Sarah wanted to have a gathering of friends and family to eat and fellowship together, sharing stories of the wonderful man she married, Paul Cooper.
