It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul R. DeGeorge, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and great uncle, who passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on May 29, 2025 at White Plains Hospital; at the age of 70, just two weeks before his 71st birthday.
A longtime resident of New Rochelle, NY, Paul Rosario DeGeorge was born in The Bronx, NY on June 12, 1954, son of the late Josephine (née Vuolo) and Frank DeGeorge. After graduating Iona College with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, he started in the mail room and worked his way up as a financial analyst at the IBM manufacturing plant in Purchase, NY. At the same time, Paul taught CCD at Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Rochelle, NY. After leaving IBM, Paul pursued his passion for teaching by getting a Master's of Science degree of Education from Iona College. His teachings, whether individually in a casual conversation or in a classroom setting, were on life, politics, music, and history, with anyone who had ears to hear the wealth of knowledge he had to share. He decided to drive a limousine lincoln town car for the remainder of his career, a metaphor for how he helped his loved ones get from one destination to the next, through his mental, emotional, and spiritual guidance. Being a father to his two daughters, Alyssa and Briana, and a grandfather to his four grandchildren was one of the greatest pleasures of Paul's life. He demonstrated deep empathy, compassion, and love spending the latter part of his life being the primary caregiver for his mother Josephine, until her passing on September 29, 2023.
Paul was predeceased by his parents , his uncle, and many close friends. Paul is survived by his two daughters: Alyssa DeGeorge (Matthew Winslow); Briana DeGeorge (Emmanuel Santana); his four grandchildren: Luna Winslow, and Salvatore, Alessio, and Luciana DeGeorge Santana. He is also survived by his sister, Maria (Robert) Weyrauch, his cousin, Helen (Tom) Quinn, and his former wife Sharon DeGeorge, the mother of his children.
