Paul Gregory Duenas, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, departed this world on May 26, 2025. Born on July 17, 1970, in Whittier, California, to his parents, Olga and Paul Duenas, Paul's life was a testament to the power of dedication, passion, and adventure.
After graduating from Anaheim High School, Paul embarked on a fulfilling career with Albertsons in Irvine, where he devoted 34 years of service. His dedication to his work was matched by his commitment to the Teamsters union, through which he formed lasting friendships and upheld the values of solidarity and community.
Paul's life was rich with love and joy, especially when he met his soulmate, Betty, at Turner's Outdoorsman 36 years ago in 1988. Married on December 1, 1990, they were blessed with three sons, Paul Michael, Joseph Allen, and David Anthony, and further graced by the joy of five grandchildren: Sophie, Aubrey, Greyson, Paul, and Walker. His sister Laurie Duenas, alongside his extended family, shared in the tapestry of his life's moments, both big and small.
An avid fisherman, Paul found serenity and excitement in the embrace of nature. His collection of vintage fishing gear was not merely a hobby but a bridge to the past, connecting him to the timeless tradition of anglers. His enthusiasm for sports was evident to all who knew him, as he proudly supported the Chargers and Padres, embodying the spirit of a true fan through the highs and lows of each season.
Paul's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He found beauty and intrigue beneath the earth's surface, engaging in rock hounding with the same zeal he applied to every endeavor. Wood-working and silver smithing allowed him to express his artistic side, crafting pieces that reflected his meticulous nature. Coin collecting was another of Paul's pursuits, showcasing his appreciation for history and craftsmanship.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Paul would describe him as adventurous and passionate. He approached life with a charming smile, a caring heart, and an adventurous spirit that inspired others to seek their own passions. His legacy is not only in the accomplishments he achieved but also in the lives he touched with his generous spirit and boundless energy.
Paul Gregory Duenas lived a life that was as rich and diverse as the interests he held dear. His journey may have concluded, but the stories, lessons, and love he shared will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, with every moment infused with passion and adventure.
