Paul D. Elvey, Jr., age 56, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on April 23, 1965, he was a son of Sandra (McCoy) and the late Paul D. Elvey, Sr. Paul worked as a manufacturing technician for CBRE and as a CPR/First Aid instructor with Beacon Safety for over 30 years. He loved teaching and meeting new people. Paul was a lifetime member of the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, and was a previous member with the Christiana Fire House. He enjoyed cheering on his Cowboys and watched wrestling regularly. Paul also enjoyed watching Marvel and DC movies with his son, Jonathan. In his down time, you would find him coloring on his phone. He said it was relaxing. Paul enjoyed hanging around the firehouse with his long-time friend, Dave Chillas. He enjoyed spending summers handing out, BBQing by the pool at his brother and sister-in-law's house with friends and family. Paul will be remembered as the life of the party and a huge jokester. He will be deeply missed by many.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Tammy L. (Bowser) Elvey; children, Jonathan Elvey, James Elvey, Paul Elvey III, and Ashley Wasser; grandchildren, Keegan and Zoie; siblings, Edward Elvey (Angela) and Ruth Ann Mason (Tommy); step-siblings, Linda Hayes, and Diane Caldwell (Steve); and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until 5 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 5 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul's memory to Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, 27 W. Green Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
