Paul Wesley Emory, born May 7, 1944, passed away peacefully in his home on September 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Paul was married to the love of his life, the late Shirley Emory, with whom he shared a beautiful life and family for over 60 years.
He is survived by his two sons, Anthony (Tracy) Emory and Robert (Rebecca) Emory; his grandchildren, Kyle (Maddie) Emory, Rachel (Tyler) Boyd, Sophia Emory, Jay Emory, Jaida Hicks, and Mason Hicks; and his great-grandchildren, Walker, Abigayle, and Graham, who brought him endless joy.
Paul dedicated 42 years of his career to General Motors, where his hard work and leadership were deeply respected. Paul was first ordained as a minister in 1967. Alongside his professional life, he served faithfully as pastor of Holy Ground Baptist Church, guiding others with wisdom, compassion, and a steadfast faith.
Paul was a man of many simple joys. He was personal friends with every living creature in his immaculately cared for property. He was known for his late-night walks up and down the road, often carrying a football-something neighbors and family still smile about. He had a sweet spot for ice cream, old country music, and having the loudest stereo in the neighborhood.
Above all, Paul had a fierce and unwavering love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was loved and respected by everyone who met him, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion that will be carried on through the lives of those who knew him best.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holy Ground Baptist Church, 4381 East Stanley Road, Genesee, MI 48437. Funeral service will follow at noon at the church. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Flint Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the burial at Holy Ground Baptist Church.
Paul's memory will continue to bring laughter, love, and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
We'll miss you, Papa. See me?
