Paul Held Jr.

Penfield: April 10th, 2024. With grace and dignity, Paul Held (Jr) passed away on April 10, 2024 at Highland Hospital after complications from pneumonia and a three year battle with cancer. Paul was predeceased by his father, Paul, his mother-in law, Mary (Sue) Green Dean and his father-in law, Paul R. Dean, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth; his wife of 43 years, Jennifer; daughters, Meaghan and Melissa (Missy); Brother, Tom (partner, Jillian Beaman); Brother and Sister-in-law, Paul and Catherine Dean; Nephews, Spencer Mann, William, Harrison and Cameron Dean; Cousins, Kirsten (Eric) Jauch, David (Kristin) Bardi and Suzan Prodrick and their children, David (Christine) Kriwox, Philip Zaborny and Alexandria Zaborny-Pecoraro, Adam (AJ) Bardi, Benjamin and James Prodrick and longtime friends of 47 years, Lynn and Rick Hertz.
Paul was born in Rochester, New York on January 9, 1958. He graduated from East High School in 1976, where he then began working full time in the family business, Allstate Tool and Die (DBA ATD Precision), which he would inherit along with his brother, and run successfully for over a decade as President, continuing a family legacy that has lasted 55 years.
Paul worked hard and was passionate about his company, but he also lived a full and active life outside of work. His many hobbies and interests included wood working, gardening, remodeling his home, cooking on his grill, dabbling in IT, listening to Jazz and of, course, playing golf with his friends at the Penfield Country Club. Paul had a quick sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends. He was always first to lend a hand or an ear and offer sound advice when asked.
Paul was a fantastic son, father, brother and uncle to his family and a wonderful friend to all. He will be sorely missed and dearly remembered. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Highland Hospital for their exemplary care of Paul.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 2-6pm at Anthony Funeral Home, 2305 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618. There will be a Celebration of Paul's Life at 4pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Third Presbyterian Church, 4 Meigs Street, Rochester, NY 14607. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Arc Foundation of Monroe, 2060 Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road, Rochester, NY 14623 or the Highland Foundation, 1000 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620.
