Paul J. Heslop, our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on April 21, 2024 at his home in West Valley City at the age of 76. He was born on January 9, 1948 in the city of Logan, UT to J Malan Heslop & Eleanor Fae Stokes Heslop. Paul spent his youth in Salt Lake City, where he attended West High School. He enjoyed singing in the West High School Choirs, ward choirs and Mormon Youth Chorus. He was on the West High cross-country team and a member of the West High debate team where he won the most valued opponent award.
Paul attended SUSC for 2 quarters before his mission and performed there in the opera Carmen. After his mission he worked hard to complete his degree from the University of Utah in 1975. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and an undergraduate certificate in Social Welfare. He was a hard-working employee for First Security and retired from Wells Fargo Bank.
Paul was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a gospel student of his own making. He loved the scriptures and was most often found at his desk studying them. Some friends used to call him the Apostle Paul . He served in the LDS Canadian Mission 1967 to 1969, (Ontario Province, Canada). Later, Paul also served as a missionary in the West Valley Employment Services Office. Paul was good, serious minded and talented with people.
